News about: #OdeSeas · A piano suite odyssey through the vastness of the Mediterranean and the archetypal forms of the Odyssey. 11 tracks, one soul.
Video highlights from the "OdeSeas" premiere at Concerto
A few days after our moving premiere night at Concerto Café Artistic, we are sharing some video highlights from this new musical journey between Myth and the Mediterranean.
As a glimpse into the performance, in one video you can watch almost the entire "Prelude - Odysseus", featuring the interplay between the solo piano and Christina Politou's narration. The other video is a continuous musical sequence, opening with the powerful finale of "Atlantic Ocean", moving into Christina's spoken word, and leading up to the middle of the solo in "Calypso".
This is a live capture of the suite, as we prepare for our upcoming performances this fall, and look forward to the official album release on January 15th, 2027. Enjoy the music and have a beautiful summer ahead!

ODESEAS – A piano suite wandering between Myth and the Mediterranean
First Presentation: Thursday, June 4th, Concerto Café Artistic
On Thursday, June 4th, at 21:00, the welcoming space of Concerto Café Artistic hosts the first official presentation of the new musical project by composer and pianist Stefanos Kozanis, titled "ODESEAS".
ODESEAS (Ode + Seas) is a contemporary musical ode to the Mediterranean seas–an "Odyssey" for solo piano, inspired by the Homeric epic, the waters crossed by the mythical hero, and the archetypal female figures he encountered along his path.
In his first solo piano work, the composer transforms the piano into a "vessel" that celebrates the element of water. The suite consists of 11 parts (one for Odysseus and ten for the years of wandering), mapping 5 seas and 5 women who defined the journey of the return.
Joining the presentation is Christina Politou, who gives voice to the stories narrated by the music through her own texts. Her narration shifts the work from the mythical to a human and psychological level, creating a dialogue where word and sound become one.
Stefanos Kozanis' musical idiom blends classical piano literature with the freedom of jazz and improvisation, "coloring" the result with the light of the Mediterranean. With a duration of just over an hour, ODESEAS invites the listener into an internal experience, in places both mythical and as familiar as the seas that surround us.
