Asterismyth – Music for Constellations and Myths, Thursday, June 12, 2025 | National Observatory of Athens

On Thursday, June 12, a truly enchanting evening unfolded at the National Observatory of Athens, on the historic Hill of the Nymphs. The event "Asterismyth – Music for Constellations and Myths" took place in front of the Observatory’s iconic building, in a packed open-air venue where music, poetry, mythology, and stars came together under the night sky.

The ensemble Asterismyth, performing original compositions by Stefanos Kozanis, presented 12 musical pieces inspired by constellations and mythical figures from Greek mythology. As the music resonated, the actual constellations illuminated the sky above the audience and the musicians, enhancing the experience with celestial presence.

Blending elements of jazz, classical music, and Greek tradition, the performance was enriched by live poetry, narration, and song, offering a unique and immersive artistic encounter.

Performers:
Katerina Konstantinou – vocals, narration, lyrics
Dimitris Margaritis – violin, poetry
Stefanos Kozanis – piano, composition
Kostas Patsiotis – double bass
Nikos Siderokastritis – drums

The large turnout and the audience’s enthusiastic response confirmed the need for cultural events that connect music, myth, and the magic of the Athenian night sky.
