Dear friends,

There is so much news to share for November! The long-awaited recording session for OdeSeas has been completed, alongside several upcoming live performances, highlighted by our concert at Theatre of the No on November 20th.

Read on for all the details, and I hope to see you in person at one of these musical evenings!

Warm regards,

A big thank you for the night at "Alogokrito" — Video Highlights

A heartfelt thank you for your moving presence at the performance of #OdeSeas — a musical ode to the seas and the archetypal female figures of the Odyssey, just a few days before entering the studio to record the album.

We are sharing a few audio-visual highlights from this musical journey between Myth and the Mediterranean.

Specifically, in one video you can watch "Aegean", which opens with Christina Politou addressing Odysseus himself. The other video features the music dedicated to an iconic figure of the Odyssey, "Circe".

Stay tuned for upcoming performances and details regarding the official album release, scheduled for January 15, 2027.

"OdeSeas" recording at Sierra Studios completed — Full speed ahead to the release!

Sunday, November 1, 2026. The recording for the OdeSeas album was completed at Sierra Studios with the exceptional and beloved sound engineer George Kariotis.

I performed with absolute focus and dedication the music I composed over the past period for Odysseus, 5 women, and 5 seas of the Odyssey — a work I recently presented in selected live performances. At the same time, Christina Politou recited, accompanied by music, her concluding text that seals the album. A truly beautiful, moving, and deeply creative Sunday!

First and foremost, I would like to thank George Kariotis for his dedication, high artistry, and craft, which brought about this beautiful result that we can't wait to share!

My thanks to Christina for being an integral part of this journey, as well as to Lieber Panos for his valuable support and the exceptional photos he captured for us!

We are moving full speed ahead toward the album release, barring any unforeseen circumstances, on January 15, 2027. Stay tuned!

NEOS Quartet - AHOLA - KOZANIS - BOUKALIS - SIDIROKASTRITIS - Live @ Theatre of the No, Friday 20/11

NEOS Quartet comes to THEATRE OF THE NO on Friday, November 20 at 21:30, presenting a contemporary jazz program that brings together Greek and Scandinavian melodies, original compositions, and ECM-inspired aesthetics.

The quartet features Finnish trumpeter, composer and producer Jykä Ahola, pianist and composer Stefanos Kozanis, bassist Chrysostomos Boukalis, and drummer Nikos Sidirokastritis.

Their repertoire combines original compositions by Ahola and Kozanis with works by Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, Kurt Weill, Herbie Hancock, David Bowie, Radiohead, Marcus Miller, and Hermeto Pascoal.

Jykä Ahola has enjoyed a long international career and a strong connection with the Athens jazz scene, having performed more than 30 times in Athens between 2021 and 2025 with different ensembles and repertoires. He has also collaborated with Stefanos Kozanis on the album Dedications, released in 2023. The two musicians are currently preparing new material, which is expected to be released in early 2027.
