Asterismyth Live @ Half Note Jazz Club | Wednesday November 26, 2025

Following a magical, sold-out performance at the historic National Observatory of Athens, Asterismyth take the stage at Half Note Jazz Club to present their full-length album Asterismyth – Music about the Constellations and Mythical Figures, along with brand-new material.

The project, led by composer and pianist Stefanos Kozanis, draws inspiration from Greek mythology and the stars, crafting a soundscape where jazz, classical music, and Greek tradition converge with poetry, narration, and song. Each composition tells the story of a constellation and its accompanying mythical figure — from Perseus and Andromeda to Cassiopeia and beyond.

Line-up:

  • Katerina Konstantinou – vocals, lyrics, narration
  • Dimitris Margaritis – violin, poetry
  • Stefanos Kozanis – piano, composition
  • Kostas Patsiotis – double bass
  • Nikos Sidirokastritis – drums

The album has received warm praise from both Greek and international critics:

“There are no real flaws within this album, as each song takes you on a wonderful journey that will keep you enthralled and excited to travel through the cosmos.”
— Grace Bradford, Music Review World

“A unique album by Asterismyth and Stefanos Kozanis that brings honor to Greek jazz – and beyond.”
— Fontas Troussas, LIFO

“I hadn’t heard such a conceptually cohesive and purely jazz-based work in years. [...] As a friend who knows her stars said: ‘Only the constellations remain for us to believe in anymore.’”
— Antonis Boskoitis, Documento

Out Now: Love's Crime

Love's Crime is a jazz ballad sung by Lieber Panos, with lyrics by Karina Ruby and music by Stefanos Kozanis. The track blends the intimacy of the Great American Songbook and Broadway tradition with a contemporary jazz sensibility, creating a timeless yet fresh sound. Its story draws subtle parallels with the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, based on an idea by Ólia Maria Dakogianni, giving the song a poetic depth that resonates beyond a love song.

Performed by an international ensemble — Stefanos Kozanis (piano), Karina Ruby (drums), Jimmy Bikos (double bass), and Jykä Ahola (trumpet) — the track captures the warmth of live jazz while offering a theatrical flair reminiscent of musicals. Lieber Panos delivers his debut performance with remarkable emotional honesty, making Love's Crime both buzzworthy and memorable as an introduction to a new voice in jazz.

🎶 New Song Release: “Ostria” 🎶

I’m happy to announce the release of my new song “Ostria”, with lyrics and music written by me.

The song is performed by my collaborator and dear friend Katerina Konstantinou — one of my favorite artists in the field, and someone I feel especially lucky to have interpreting my music. From the Asterismyth album to new releases like this one, her voice brings a unique depth to the work.

“Ostria” has a rhythmic, warm, summery feel. Yet the southern wind it refers to symbolizes something quite different for me — the inevitable, a not-so-positive chapter in my life that I’m working to overcome. Music helps me in this process; it becomes a way to exorcise past wounds.

In addition to the composition, I handled the programming and recording. The sound is electronic, featuring analog synthesizers. Mixing and mastering were done at Artracks Studios by Giorgos Priniotakis, and the cover photo was taken by Yiannis Pavlidis.

The track is available as of July 23, 2025, on YouTube and all major digital platforms.

🎶 New Release: “Aftermath” 🎶

I’m happy to announce the release of the song “Aftermath”, composed by Karina Ruby and myself, with lyrics by Karina.

This is a new acoustic version, beautifully interpreted by — a gifted artist with a wide-ranging repertoire, emotional and spiritual depth, and an extraordinary expressive palette.

In this version, I perform on piano, blending jazz improvisation with influences from classical tradition — a personal musical language I deeply cherish. The track was recorded at Artracks Studios by Giorgos Priniotakis, and the cover photo was taken by Yannis Pavlidis.

“Aftermath” was first released in 2021 as part of the soundtrack for the graphic novel "Musicoma" by Maria-Olia Dakogianni — a story about the life of an aging jazz diva who shows how an "old" music like jazz can still speak to younger generations, and how music connects and transforms lives.

This song speaks of how music connects souls, heals wounds, and preserves the sacred echoes of what we’ve lived. As the lyrics say:

“Our music will be alive after ashes and ember.
Eternally I am yours — we will always remember
the lyrics we shared, our feelings unpaired,
the times that we spent in healing.”

“Aftermath” is available as of today, Friday, June 20, 2025, on YouTube and all major streaming platforms.
